Department of Rural Development and Agricultural Extension MSc program

Admission Criteria

The applicants for Master of Science in Rural Development and Agricultural Extension related field are supposed to fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Need to have completed academic requirements for Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Plant Sciences, Horticultural Sciences, Crop Sciences, Crop production and protection, Biology or other related fields from Universities or from other  accredited higher learning institutions  and with cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00 and above. A candidate who has a high scholastic standing, whose professional experience has been superior and who has received good recommendations shall be given priority for admission. Moreover, priorities in admission may be granted to government sponsors as per the pressing need of the government.
  2. Must pass an entrance examination  (above 50%) prepared by the College/department for the program
  3. Must be supported by at least two letters of recommendation preferably from the  applicant’s  undergraduate instructors, employers and professional associations
  4. Submit letter indicating sponsorship for their research work or sign an agreement if self- sponsored, and
  5. A student who is believed to be deficient in certain courses may be requested to take additional undergraduate courses after admission to the program.
