MSc Soil sciences

About the Program

The Soil science MSc program is a two years practical oriented program with two semester course works followed by Msc thesis.

The soil science masters program

  • Provide specialist knowledge and understanding of the nature of soils and their evaluation.

  • Equip students to carry out soil sampling and assessment of soil chemical, physical and biological characteristics

  • Provide an understanding of the function of soils in relation to sustainable land use and societal needs

  • Enable students to integrate relevant knowledge in the development of effective management strategies for sustainable soil management

  • Develop students’ analytical skills and critical thinking

Admission requirements

  • BSC in soil sciences related field

  • Passing entrance qualification examination

Graduation requirements

To be eligible for graduation all the master candidates must fulfill:

  • Min. 35 credit hours of course work

  • Six credit hours of research work

  • A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.00.

  • Successful Thesis and defense examination

Degree awarded

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN SOIL SCIENCE(M.Sc. in Soil Science).
