The Horticulture MSc program is a fulltime two years program aimed at producing skilled and competent horticultural professionals
The horticulture masters program
Produce well trained and competent horticultural professionals who can generate, demonstrate and distribute technologies appropriates for production, improvement, protection and postharvest handling of horticultural crops so as to improve productivity, sustainability and competitiveness of horticultural sector of the country;
Deliver nationally and internationally recognized graduate program and save foreign exchange otherwise that would be used to train aboard; and
Provide appropriate knowledge through integrating training, research and extension, so as to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of the graduates as horticulture professional.
Enable graduates acquire entrepreneurial skills for self-employment opportunities
Enhance the capacity of graduates in terms of knowledge and practice of designing, executing and communicating scientific researches in horticulture
Admission requirements
BSC in Plant Sciences, Horticultural Sciences, Crop Sciences, Crop production and protection, Biology or other related fields
Letters of recommendation
Passing entrance qualification examination
Graduation requirements
To be eligible for graduation all the master candidates must fulfill:
Min. 31 credit hours of course work
Six credit hours of research work
A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.00.
Successful Thesis and defense examination
