Welcome to the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES).
Located in the outskirt of the historic city of Gondar, CAES is one of the youngest colleges established in the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. Unlike our minimal years of services, we are one of the fast growing agricultural colleges in the country offering a variety of degrees ranging from BSc to PhD programs. Currently, 8 BSc, 15 MSc and 4 PhD offering programs are running in our college. Our college is also striving to open about two undergraduate and four new postgraduate programs which are appropriate to the changing needs of our customers and changing global conditions. Within in the last twelve years of our services, promising and successful accomplishments were registered in the areas of teaching-learning, research and community service activities.
We are currently making real progresses to better strengthen our overall capacities. For the realization of the envisaged education quality enhancement plan, we are aggressively working on enhancing the academic status and competence of our staffs; improving the accessibility of laboratory and ICT facilities, providing smart-board furnished class rooms. Moreover, we are currently building new laboratory complexes and green house facilities to further strengthen practically oriented teaching learning processes. Similarly, together with foreign consultants, preparations are underway to establish high quality training and demonstration farm site at Teda campus which basically relies on advanced drip irrigation technologies.
As a dean of CAES, I would like to affirm you that we have ethical, talented, hard working and dedicated professionals to meet your educational requirements. Therefore, I hereby invite both undergraduate and postgraduate students to make our college your priority choice in the field of agricultural sciences.
We look forward to welcoming new students and partner organizations
