About the Program

The Forest and Nature Conservation (FONAC) Master’s program is a full time two years program which aims at producing graduates in forest and nature management and conservation and related professional careers. Students will gain theoretical and practical knowledge in forest and nature conservation, develop practical skills of research and resource inventories and be able to apply their skills in forest and nature conservation and management endeavors.

The program will:

  • Acquaint graduates with in-depth and comprehensive knowledge in forest ecosystems,

biodiversity (wildlife) resources, and protected areas management

  • Enable graduates to apply their technical knowledge to analysis and solve problems in

relation to forest and nature conservation

  • Enable graduates to design and implement effective management and conservation

practices for sustainable resource utilization

  • Equip graduates with scientific methodological approaches and skills to conduct and

communicate researches in their respective specialization both independently and in

interdisciplinary team

  • Enable graduates to master diverse and complex tasks in their prospective research,

development, academic and business carriers and professions and forest and nature

conservation related investments

Admission requirements

  • BSC in the specified areas (Forestry, Natural resources Management, wildlife management, Biology and related fields)

  • Eligible applications are assessed using the following selection criteria:

a) Academic excellence

b) Recommendations

c) Relevant work experiences

d) Personal motivation

e) Entrance examination

Graduation requirements

To be eligible for graduation all the master candidates must fulfill:

  • Successful completion of a minimum of 34 Cr. hr of course work

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct research independently: completion of Master’s thesis and successful defense ( minimum of Pass grade) ;

  • A minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.00;
